Waterman wins $112m redevelopment of regional Victoria hospital in Warrnambool. Construction of a new inpatient ward building and a new allied health building along with extensive upgrades to all site infrastructure systems.
New departments included Intensive Care Unit, pharmacy, dialysis, dental, and a new front entry incorporating an atrium and retail facilities.
The hospital has been designed based on ESD principles which include a gas fire cogeneration plant, active chilled beams, floor heating and cooling systems and heat reclaim from co-generation plant for use on HHW and DHW systems.
The project is one of the largest regional Hospital redevelopments and is the first stage of a two-stage development. The $50m Stage 2 component is yet to be funded but will involve the redevelopment of the Acute Theatre complex and the Emergency Department.
