Double student living boost for Melbourne as two new UniLodge properties complete

Located in the heart of Melbourne’s central business district (CBD), UniLodge’s two recently completed premium student living properties offer a combined 1,366 units and are now welcoming residents.

Situated close to RMIT University on La Trobe Street, UniLodge Melbourne Central offers 714 units across 46 floors, whilst UniLodge Melbourne CBD brings 652 self-contained studio and multi-share apartments across 37 floors set within a unique historic building on Wills Street, just a short walk from RMIT and Victoria University City Campus. Both facilities offer exclusive access to bespoke cinemas, futuristic gyms, social areas, study and sky lounges, creating an inspiring environment where students can thrive.

Giving a new lease of life to the former Victorian Printing Works building, the Wills Street development preserved the historic façade which now creates a stunning backdrop to the common areas. With sustainability a high design priority, both schemes achieved five-star Green Star certification, whilst each of these developments is targeting Climate Active certification to reflect carbon neutrality in their operation.

Waterman’s team provided a variety of services, including mechanical, electrical, fire, hydraulic, vertical transportation and ESD designs across both buildings.

Butterworth Australian Airforce Base

The Australian Airforce base in Butterworth, Malaysia required a full upgrade.

Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium

The Gippsland Regional Indoor Sports Stadium redevelopment delivers a multipurpose facility to host a wide range of events.

Land 400 Monegeetta, Puckapunyal

The project involved the design, documentation and construction phase services for a new tank maintenance facility at Puckapunyal in regional Victoria.

Wonthaggi Hospital

The design and construction of a new acute hospital expansion on the existing Wonthaggi Hospital site in Regional Victoria.

St Antonio Da Padova

This new wing at the nursing home includes 70 new beds, a communal residents’ living, dining areas, café, entry lobby, nurses stations, hairdressers and physio rooms.

Move Leisure Centre

The new Move Leisure development replaces the existing facilities on the site as part of the first stage of an overall sports precinct masterplan.

Royal Children’s Hospital Victoria

Our team were engaged as technical advisors and prepared the design brief and undertook the technical advisory role for the State Government of Victoria for this new $1.2B hospital.

Oceangrove Seniors Living Village

Our team were appointed as MEP consultants on this new Seniors Living development comprising of 75 Independent Living Units in Dee Why.

St Vincent’s Private Hospital

Our team were engaged with DSA Consulting for the full engineering services design and construction phase services for this $140m hospital redevelopment.

Federation Square

Waterman were engaged as the services engineers for the complete Federation Square complex that included theatres, restaurants, galleries and commercial office space.

Gippsland Regional Aquatic Centre

The facility includes sauna and steam rooms, gymnasium and group fitness rooms, wellness centre, 25m outdoor pool and café

Anam Cara

The project incorporated 40 palliative care beds, medical support areas, kitchen, laundry, chapel and other breakout spaces.

Drummond Place

Drummond Place consists of 91 independent living retirement apartments with a communal rooftop terrace with leisure and dining areas.

Quakers Hill RACF

The project at Quakers Hill involved the demolition of the existing facility and the construction of a new 100-125 bed Residential Aged Care Facility (2 storeys) with single rooms, double rooms and a dementia wing.
