For over 40 years the original building has been a popular destination for retail, food and dining. Whilst it was formerly known as Whitehorse Plaza when it opened its doors in 1974 a southern shopping centre was built over the train station in the 1980s providing easy access to the complex.
This resulted in the two shopping centres merging into Box Hill Central North and South which has been redeveloped and rebranded several times over the years and is now home to a diverse mix of stores and restaurants over three floors.
Situated in Box Hill, Victoria, on the outskirts of Melbourne this shopping centre involved the complete refurbishment of the existing Box Hill Central building. The full retail complex underwent a major $20m revamp of the building infrastructure, common plaza atrium areas and all retail tenancy fitouts.
We undertook the full design, documentation and construction phase services for Centro which included mechanical, electrical, fire protection and hydraulic services.
