Comprising 67,400 sq ft spread across two six-storey buildings, in addition to 7,098 sq ft of basement, Chimes is a newly built, luxury retirement living scheme in London’s Westminster. Arranged around a landscaped courtyard and colonnade, the facility provides 38 exclusive two-bed apartments, a one-bedroom apartment and guest suite for resident’s friends and family to use.

Chimes incorporates concierge services and valet parking, together with a wellness area including stretch studio, spa, steam room and treatment room facilities. Residents also benefit from a roof terrace and a courtyard garden room which provides an exceptional focal hub and communal space.

Our building services team delivered the MEP design for scheme. The reduction of operational carbon was a key driver from the outset, and our experts innovated to drive down energy use as part of the MEP design. Working alongside the architect, our design incorporates the latest heat recovery air source heat pump technology along with 100% renewable energy heating and hot water solutions, delivering a truly sustainable development.

High and low temperature thermal stores are used to maximise the efficiency of the system that utilises staged temperature control to optimise heat pump energy performance. Energy use is closely monitored through intelligent controls and the high efficiency LED lighting has significantly reduced electrical consumption.
