Originally established in 1962 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan with just 38 female students in Narrabeen, today Mater Maria Catholic College has grown into a thriving co-educational secondary school under the Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay and is home to over 1,000 students.

This project saw the major expansion of the facilities on offer at the College, delivering a modern library, administration and staff facilities, student welfare hub, flexible learning spaces for students and a new canteen on site.

Three new levels were added, which incorporate additional office space, classrooms, library and a function area on the rooftop. The construction program also enabled older parts of the College to be refurbished, resulting in six new classrooms, a new junior kitchen, and a purpose-built STEM laboratory. Waterman provided full engineering design and construction services for the expansion, including mechanical, electrical, fire protection and hydraulics.
