The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is Australia’s oldest and most visited art gallery, operating across two landmark venues: NGV International on St Kilda Road, and The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia located on Federation Square.

Designed by Bates Smart Architects, the galleries present a diverse programme of ever-growing and expanding international and Australian art, spanning contemporary practice, major historic exhibitions, fashion and design, architecture, sound and performance.

Our specialists undertook the full design, documentation and construction phase services across Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection, Hydraulics and Transportation Services for the Ian Potter Centre – NGV , supporting the growth of one of Australia’s most significant cultural institutions.

The gallery houses some of Australians most prestigious art collections and therefore the design brief incorporated specific requirements such as: stringent internal temperature and humidify conditions, specific lighting requirement, stringent standby power requirements and specialist shut down requirements in the event of system failures.
