Based in South Melbourne, our welcoming team is working on a range of prestigious and innovative projects throughout Australia. This full-time position offers you the chance to lead the delivery of ESD engineering designs and documentation for schemes across all sectors.

As part of our Management Group, you’ll use your expertise to help shape our business, whilst ensuring ESD services designs are carried out efficiently and to the highest standards. Harnessing your industry knowledge and experience, you’ll help upskill your colleagues by assisting with the mentoring, training and development of new and existing team members.

With our innovative and collaborative culture, you’ll work across boundaries and have a great platform to present your ideas. You’ll join experts across the business to progress major schemes, collaborating with our multidisciplinary experts to develop holistic solutions.

About the role:
This is a truly dynamic role, and you’ll be happy working autonomously to support a variety of schemes across all sectors. You’ll provide high level ESD engineering expertise resulting from both academic qualifications and industry experience.

You’ll work closely with the company Directors and other members of our Management Group regarding deliverables, resourcing and teamwork.

You’ll be a key ambassador for our business, assisting with marketing activities and regularly securing new commissions from your existing and developing client base. You’ll also contribute to the ongoing development and expansion of the business both within the Melbourne area and across Australia.

You’ll demonstrate a hands-on approach to the assessment and computational aspects of the types of sustainability work we provide to our clients, including:

  • Green Star rating assessments
  • NATHERS star rating assessments
  • Carbon Neutral transition planning
  • NABERS star rating assessments
  • Sustainability Management Plans
  • Section J Building fabric assessments
  • Energy Consumption modelling and analysis
  • Daylight modelling and analysis
  • Systems performance studies
  • CFD Analysis
  • Occupant Comfort assessments
  • Natural Ventilation modelling and analysis
  • On Site generation systems
  • Energy reclaim systems
    You’ll be relationship-focused and will have the presentation and communications skills to represent Waterman to clients and the wider industry.

You’ll assist with maintaining Technical and Quality Assurance reviews and standards within the ESD discipline and you’ll champion excellence in sustainability design.

You’ll lead the production aspects of the ESD services discipline and deliver documentation, technical specifications, schedules and technical reports of the highest standards.

You’ll actively contribute to the training, mentoring and technical development of other team members whilst continuing to develop your own technical knowledge and application of the National Construction Code. You’ll also maintain your status as a Registered Engineer in the State of Victoria and other states as required.

You’ll have the opportunity to assist with the delivery of an exciting range of national and international projects as a sub-consultant to other Waterman Group offices.
